Announcing The Golden Birthday Board Treasure Hunt

We have put up 10 special Golden Birthday Boards around Leeds and if you find one, you are in with a chance of winning £500 in cash!

All you need to do is find a special board and upload a selfie or picture of the board to our Facebook page with the hashtag #goldenboard and start sharing it. The picture with the most likes and shares by the end of the competition will win a whopping £500 in cash.

There are 10 boards to find, which means you can enter up to 10 times – one for each board.
  1. Find one of the ten Golden Birthday Boards around Leeds
  2. Take a photo of it – ideally a selfie so people are more likely to share it for you
  3. Please be mindful someone lives in the property!
  4. Upload it to the Let Leeds Facebook page ( with the hashtag #goldenboard
  5. Get all your mates to like and share the photo
  6. The photo with the most shares and likes by Saturday 18 May 2019 will win the top prize
  7. There will also be 5 runner’s up prizes of cinema tickets up for grabs too!

Terms & Conditions

  1. The competition (the “Competition”) is open to people aged 18 and over.
  2. Employees or agencies of Let Leeds, their family members, or anyone else connected with the Competition may not enter the Competition. Persons may not enter or participate as part of a syndicate or on behalf of any other person, syndicate, group, society or company.
  3. Entrants into the Competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
  4. To enter the Competition you must upload a photograph of one of Let Leeds’ Golden Boards to the Let Leeds Company Facebook page ( with the hashtag #goldenboard.
  5. If you have any questions about how to enter or in connection with the Competition, please e-mail us at with “Birthday Golden Board” in the subject line.
  6. Maximum of 10 entries per person, one for each unique photograph of the 10 Golden Birthday Boards to be found around Leeds.
  7. Let Leeds accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.
  8. The closing date of the Competition is 23:59 on Saturday 18 May 2019. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered.
  9. One overall winner and 5 runners up will be chosen in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  10. Once a Facebook post reaches a minimum of 100 likes and shares, it will become eligible to win the top prize. Thereafter, the #goldenboard Facebook post that receives the most shares and likes on the Let Leeds Company Page will be considered the overall winner.
  11. The overall winner will receive a top prize of £500 and 5 runners up will win a pair of Vue Cinema Ticket Vouchers.
  12. The winner will be notified on social media on or before 22 May 2019 and must provide a postal and email address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to Let Leeds within 14 days of being notified by Let Leeds, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and Let Leeds shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 14 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and Let Leeds shall be entitled to select another winner.
  13. The prize will be sent to the winner by bank transfer or cheque.
  14. Automated Entry: the use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits any person to enter any promotion repeatedly is prohibited. No bulk, consumer group or third party entries will be accepted. These entries will be disqualified.
  15. The name of the winner can be obtained after 24 June 2019 by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address: FAO Marketing Manager, Let Leeds, Coburg House, St Andrews Court, Leeds, LS3 1JY
  16. The prize is non-exchangeable and non-transferable, and is not redeemable for other prizes.
  17. Any tax payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the responsibility of the winner. Winners should seek independent financial advice prior to accepting a prize if this is a concern.
  18. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the Competition and the winner shall participate in such activity on Let Leeds’ reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by Let Leeds, both before and after the closing date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of the winner’s voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by Let Leeds and its related companies) and in advertising, social media, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and, in entering the Competition, all entrants consent to the same.
  19. Where promotions are run on either or both of Facebook or Twitter, you acknowledge that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter and that Facebook or Twitter has no liability for any element of the promotion.
  20. By participating in any promotion involving Facebook or Twitter, to the extent permissible by law, you the entrant hereby release Facebook or Twitter (as applicable) from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to your participation in the promotion.
  21. Where a promotion allows for entry via Facebook and/or Twitter and/or any other social media platform, entries must be made using a legitimate Facebook, Twitter, Social Media Platform account (as relevant). Entries from entrants using multiple Facebook or Twitter or other Social Media accounts are not permitted and all such entries will be disqualified and any prize award forfeited.
  22. Where a promotion requires entry via Facebook and/or Twitter and/or any other social media platform, all participants must have access to the internet and an active Facebook or Twitter or other social media account (as applicable). If you do not have such an account you will need to create one in order to participate and you will require an active email address in order to do this.   23. All entries via Facebook or other social media platform will also be subject to the Social Media platform (as applicable) terms of use which can be found at

Let Leeds shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen here, and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Competition, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Competition entry, and for the purposes outlined in the paragraph above.
  25. Where any promotion requires entrants to submit a photograph, sound or video clip of any description (collectively, “Media”) as a part of entry into or participation in the promotion, Entrants:
    1. Warrant and represent that their chosen Media: (i) is original to them (ii) is submitted in good faith and (iii) has been legally obtained and created;
    2. Agree that we have the right to publish and communicate to the public the Media in any media including, but not limited to, our website and social media channels, at all times without restriction or limitation throughout the world and not only for the purposes of the promotion.
  26. By entering a promotion, in relation to their entry (including but not limited to where the entry is Media) all entrants:
    1. Assign to us all rights (including present and future copyright) in their entry in all media (including, without limitation, the internet) and whether in existence now or created in the future.
    2. Agree not to assert any moral rights in respect of their entry and related publicity materials (wherever and whenever such rights are recognised) against the Promoter, its assigns, licensees and successors in title.
    3. Agree the Promoter is without any obligation, compensation or other liability to you or any other person featured in your entry (and you shall be responsible for ensuring the consent of any persons featured in your entry to these terms and conditions). Such use may be for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, reproduction, disclosure, transmission, publication, broadcast and posting whole or in part, in any medium and in any manner. However, the Promoter shall be under no obligation to respond to any communication.
    4. Undertake to us that their entry does not (i) infringe the intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party, or violate applicable laws, regulations or terms of use; (ii) does not contain references to any other brands or trademarks; AND (iii) does not contain any defamatory, malicious, indecent, threatening or otherwise inappropriate imagery or statements, or represent a danger to health and safety and each entrant agrees to indemnify us for any loss, damage or liability arising should this provision be breached. If relevant, we reserve the right, but not the obligation (and without limiting entrants’ warranty and indemnity as set out above), to screen, filter and/or monitor information provided by the entrant and to edit, refuse to distribute or remove the same.
    5. Acknowledge that we may edit the entry in our sole discretion.
    6. Agree that we have the right to use entrants’ names, likenesses and other personal information in conjunction with the entry.
    7. Agree not to bring against us any actions, suits, claims and demands in respect of defamation or any infringement or violation of any personal and/or property rights of any sort from our use of their entry.
    8. Unconditionally waive their right to seek or obtain an injunction to prevent or restrict our use of their entry.
    9. Confirm that they have the right, power and authority to grant the rights set out above and that they have obtained all consents and permissions necessary to grant us the same.
  27. Let Leeds accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the prize. Let Leeds further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition.
  28. Let Leeds reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Let Leeds in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  29. Let Leeds shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
  30. The Competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
