Bonfire Night has always been a great time of year for all the family as we head into the winter months. As last year’s celebrations were put on hold due to the pandemic, it’s no surprise we are all expecting a big bang this year.

Organised events are always a great choice for Guy Fawkes night. Not only do you get a firework display that has a great deal of safety measures, you also get much bigger and longer fireworks than you would at home.

As this is the first Bonfire Night in two years, here’s some of our favourite local bonfires for all the family to enjoy:
Gledhow Sports and Social Club, Gledhow

This is a great one to visit with young children as the fun kicks off nice and early at 3:30pm on Friday 5th, with lots of family friendly activities including, the best Guy Fawkes competition, food and even a family quiz. Traditional pie and peas as well as hotdogs can be enjoyed around the fire pits throughout the night.

High Trees Garden Centre, Horsforth

If you don’t want to stray far from your Horsforth base, High Trees Garden Centre is our local display this year. Starting at 6pm on Saturday 6th there will be games, food and drink before the big firework display at 7pm. This is a great choice for all the family to enjoy.

The New Inn, Eccup

The New Inn has always been well known for their big Bonfire Night celebrations. With food, bars and market stalls open from 6pm we suspect this Friday night extravaganza will be one to remember. Find your spot before the huge firework display at 7:15pm.

The Roundhegians, Roundhay

The premium firework display in Roundhay is brought to us by The Roundhegians this year. Held on Saturday 6th, the Memorial Ground will offer hot drinks, alcohol and street food before the sky will light up for the big finale!

Yeadon Cricket Club, Yeadon

Another great choice if you want to celebrate on Saturday night. Yeadon Cricket Club always attracts a big crowd with a firework display and bonfire. Starting at 6pm we suspect this will be a popular event this year.

However you choose to spend your Bonfire Night, we wish you all a sparkling weekend!
