- University of Leeds – Established in 1874, the University of Leeds consistently ranks in the UK’s top 5 universities. With well over 500 undergraduate courses from which to choose, it caters to a wide variety of students. Available courses include traditional degree subjects such as Engineering, Physical Sciences and Fine Art, as well as some more esoteric ones like Fire Science, Nanotechnology and Colour Chemistry. The University of Leeds also offers in excess of 300 postgraduate courses.
- Leeds Beckett University – Leeds Beckett University can trace its origins back to 1824, when it was known as Leeds Mechanics Institute. Today, it is home to more than a dozen faculties, including Art, Architecture and Design; Education; Law; Social Sciences; and Sport. The campus is spread over a number of locations, most of which can be found between the city’s inner ring road and the nearby University of Leeds campus. The University also offers excellent sports facilities in Headingley making it a popular choice for sport students.
- Leeds Arts University – Founded in 1846, Leeds Arts University offers a variety of specialist undergraduate and postgraduate courses in creative subjects that include Art, Fashion, Film-making, Advertising, Graphic Design, Illustration and Popular Music Performance. Its main campus is located directly opposite the University of Leeds.
- Leeds Trinity University – Originally a Roman Catholic teaching college when it first opened in 1966, Leeds Trinity now offers foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in a range of different subjects, including Law, Education, Film, Sociology, Psychology and Journalism. Leeds Trinity campus is located roughly 6 miles from the city centre, near to the village of Horsforth.
