Baggage specialists Bags4U have set up their first shop in Yorkshire, choosing the Merrion Centre as their location. Chief executive Amandip Singh Sandhu said, “It’s a well-established shopping centre with a broad retail base and a good cross-section of shoppers. We are looking forward to trading here and serving the Leeds community with top quality travel goods.”
Susan Mendoza, centre manager at the Merrion Centre, said, “We currently don’t have a luggage specialist so it’s fantastic to add Bags4U to the good range of shops we already offer visitors to the centre.”
Meanwhile, Pure Gym, the 21,000 sq ft fitness facility in the heart of the city centre, has opened, offering a convenient and affordable exercise option for students and office workers. Helen Green, Associate Director of Estates for Town Centre Securities PLC said, “This new city centre gym is located in the northern office core and is close to the civic quarter and university campuses. The large numbers of people who work in this part of the city centre… now benefit from a gym on their doorstep.”
The gym is the first part of TCS’s multi-million pound scheme to develop the area into a leisure destination, giving a much needed facelift to Wade Lane and Merrion Way.
