Scarborough Group International (SGI) has obtained planning consent for the construction of 300 new homes on a 17.7 acre site in the north part of their Thorpe Park Leeds mixed-use business development. The homes will be mostly comprised of houses, with some apartments. SGI is now searching for a housebuilder to deliver the high-quality scheme.

The Thorpe Park Leeds development is already made up of 800,000 sq ft of accommodation, 600,000 sq ft of which is taken up by business space and a hotel. As well as the new housing, SGI has permission to add up to 935,000 sq ft of high-quality office space; just under 200,000 sq ft of retail space; up to 175,000 sq ft of leisure space, including sports facilities and hotels; and another 45,000 sq ft for bars, cafes, and restaurants.

The expected cost of delivering the remaining development is in excess of £400 million.

Another feature of the scheme will be 25 acres of parkland and green space running through the site and connecting with Green Park, the new 113-acre public park west of the site. The park, being brought forward by SGI in conjunction with Leeds City Council, will be Leeds’ first significant new public park in over 100 years.
