Leeds is a brilliant destination for students. It’s home to over 60,000 students, and always a popular choice, with several high profile and prestigious places to study – whether it’s Leeds Beckett, Leeds Trinity or Leeds University, or the multitude of other colleges such as the Leeds College of Music, Leeds College of Building, Northern School of Contemporary Dance or Leeds Arts University.

All these students mean that there is a steady demand and never any shortage of tenants looking for quality accommodation.

Conditions such as this make for a really buoyant and competitive student market, which is very favourable for our Landlords. The combination of low house prices and large student populations come together in Leeds to generate excellent rental levels and create high yields.

Luke Gidney, MD of Let Leeds said that “usually the student marketing cycle kicks off in November, when we start listing properties for the academic year ahead. The majority of properties are signed for well before Easter for the 1st July changeover period, however, this year, we have seen a significant increase in properties signed for, even before Christmas, agreeing lets on a record number of properties.”

With figures from Unipol indicating that student rents are anticipated to grow by 5% year on year, buy-to-let student property in Leeds is an investment well worth considering.

If you have a student property in Leeds, we’d love to hear from you as we have plenty of tenants ready and waiting!
