Finally, a take-out place that does both gourmet Indian food as well as Oriental (Chinese, Thai and Malaysian)! What’s more, they are also licensed to serve alcohol with the food, providing a good range of wines, beers and even cocktails.

This brilliant concept is the work of Kamal Miah and his partner Shujahat Shah. They said, “We chose Leeds for our first outlet because we feel it is a natural fit with the style, taste and culture of the city. We are aware that the city has an abundance of food lovers who appreciate good food of a high standard, yet the high-end take-away market remains untouched. We aim to fill this gap by serving quality food for people to eat at home.“

Taking the Karma aspect of their brand very seriously, they pledge to donate the first order taken each day to a UK charity that helps children affected by poverty, as well as serving food in “polar bear friendly” take-away bags.

The Karma (Indian) menu was launched just a few days ago, and the Zen (Oriental) menu is due to launch this month. For great food that comes with a generous helping of peace and love, you might want to give Karma Zen a try.
