Yvonne’s Story with HOP Investments

Yvonne was approached by HOP in 2021 when we noticed her property was looking a bit tired and would benefit financially from a revamp with the rental potential being huge. Neil took a closer look and put together a proposed plan to Optimise Yvonne’s property increasing her ROI and property value.

Neil ran through the numbers with me, and given that I had owned the property for 8 years, the level of investment required to upgrade this property from 4 bedroom 1 tiny little bathroom, to a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom property, made financial sense… it was down to him that I was able to understand this.

Yvonne resides and has done for the past 32 years in Singapore. Communication and trust was paramount to the success of this project. HOP Investments arranged a meeting with Yvonne when she was in the UK to run through the proposed plan. We were able to show Yvonne another similar project we were working on nearby. “I was able to see the renovations about half way through, and I was very impressed with the finishing, the contractor and came away quite reassured and confident that we could deliver on this”.  Once we were given the green light, Neil put together a Work and Payment schedule and finalised the concept with Yvonne prior her to returning to Singapore.

HOP started the works in October 2021 which included, converting the cold and damp cellar into a stunning double bedroom with en-suite as well as a house utility room. The first floor was transformed with a new entrance hall, modern lounge and stunning kitchen with island. The upper floors were rejigged to make way for another bathroom,  refurbished to create a contemporary finish and the rotten dormer was repaired. This cold, dark and tired 4 bedroom property received a complete make-over!

He kept me up-to-date throughout the whole time, with photos as well as up-to-date schedules of costings and pricings etc. It was delivered by the end of April, on time and under budget!

HOP worked with our Lettings department behind the scenes to ensure no time was wasted. Using similar projects, HOP lettings team were able to advertise the property to potential tenants whilst the project was underway.  “I think it’s really worth mentioning that HOP had secured 5 quality tenants before the project had even been finished“.

We asked Yvonne if she was happy with the end result and she had this to say: ” Yes I have been happy with the end result… and I liked it so much, I stayed there myself for a few weeks before my tenants moved in“.

The best thing about working with HOP Investments is that it gave me absolute peace of mind. I was dealing with this remotely, I could trust Neil implicitly, I knew he would keep his eye on the ball. He would adhere to the budget and ensure that the contractors delivered high specification on time. All of that happened and I have been very very pleased with the result.
